New Jersey Brass Institute

The New Jersey Brass Institute is an educational project of the Association of New Jersey Orchestras which offers private and group lessons, brass ensemble rehearsals and audition preparation workshops for student and amateur brass musicians.

Trumpet Classes

In the Fall of 2016, the New Jersey Brass Institute is organizing a series of 10 one-hour instructional classes for trumpet students in Middle and High School at the Canal Music Studios in Lambertville, NJ. Classes will be limited to 3 participants per class, grouped according to age and ability. The per-student fee for the series of 10 classes is $25 per class.

Multiple classes can be scheduled on weekday afternoons and weekend times. If you are interested in participating and have some questions,

Classes will focus on developing trumpet technique, including instruction in:

  • Scale & Arpeggio Studies
  • Interval Exercises
  • Lip Slur Drills
  • Embouchure Development
  • Posture and Breathing
  • Articulation Techniques & Styles
  • Long Tone Practice
  • Sight Reading Development

The cost of all printed materials for the classes is included in the fee.
